Hi Bruce,

I reconditioned one of these and exhibited it running a string of lights at the LLangollen National Rally. It now has a new home with Jan and Diccon Pridie. However, of slightly more interest was Lot 5 in the same auction. It looks like a 1939 Jowett 10? I see it sold for £3800 and has a registration nunber HHK 277. I couldn't see it in the 10hp vehicle register. Do we know any history of the vehicle and who bought it? It's a shame if it went to someone just for the registration? I believe these are fairly rare?

All the best,

David

Did anyone but that generator? A while ago I asked in the local group about a manifold I have had kicking about in some Bradford spares. It was suggested to me that although it was the shape of a CA manifold it has a 4 bolt flange and might be off an industrial. Frankly, I don't know. The one in the picture above seems to be without a manifold.

Hi Nick,

Nope, that manifold is not from a stationary engine. Although they have the four bolt flange, they are upright and the carburetor fits underneath the manifold, so it's an up-draught type. I probably have a spare manifold somewhere?

I think the engine sold for around £300, according to the auctioneer's post sale notes on the original link.

All the best,

David

Hi everyone interested in the industrial engines.
The post below this one relates to a mixture of WP engines and parts that I have for sale.
Ignore the price quoted and make me an offer.
They are taking up too much room in the garage, and I have no desire to fettle them.
You'll have to collect them though.
Tony.
