Dynalilte vs Dynamator, ?negative earth, battery leads

Post by bobharvey »

Anyone have any experience of either of these, and/or a comparison? Dynalite is about 3x the price, and both offer the identical idea of a clean swap for the dynamo, same brackets etc. I'm all for quality, but I can't on paper see any difference, and why disturb the moths needlessly?

Related to this, both can be had in either positive or negative earth. My first thought was to stick with the postive earth, one more thing not to to, but almost all modern accesories will be negative earth, most relevantly LED bulbs, so given that it's little trouble, it might simplify things in future to go negative.

AND, related to that, if I'm fiddling with the battery leads, maybe worth while getting rid of the old Joe Lucas helmet connectors? Difficult to get hold of, and mildly troublesome. Have many owners swapped them out? and if so, any pre-made leads for other vehicles the right size, or will I need to make some up?

Did you stick with positive earth or swap vehicle to negative?

Either polarity Dynamators are available. See JT swapping polarity thread on what to think about. But i always swap over.
