Front hub lock ring

Post by PaulRM »

Basic question: is the right hand (in UK offside) front hub locking ring (with the holes for a pin wrench) left hand threaded? Many thanks. Having difficulty removing this on a Jupiter.

NO. It is locked using a screw with a pin at its end. Often this has broken off or mangled the thread. The tool with 6 pins that takes it off is often inadequate to shift it and a pin punch is required which invariably damages the ring. New rings are available.
