Liner Locating Plate

Hi everyone
As I am reassembling the engine after the refurbishing process, it seems that my engine does not have the liner locating plate and the plating tube (which seems to have the function of avoid the liners to move). Anyone knows if this plate is available somewhere to be purchased? Or perhaps someone can provide a pic and I can manufacture it locally.
Thanks in advance!

Hello Claudio,
Some time ago I made a few of these at night school and sold them to help The 'Jowett Junior' cause.
Perhaps this is what you require.
I can't remember the sizes, but here's a photo that might help.
Tony.
P.S. I do not have any left, and I don't attend the night school any longer, so couldn't reproduce them.

I think Tony, that the tool that you created is for holding the liners in place typically during assembly or overhaul of the engine.
The item that Claudio is referencing is the item in the assembled engine that locates the liners and supports the head gasket at that location. In earlier Javelins, it comprised a relatively thin plate and a separate support tube; in later engines it was superseded by a cast aluminium component.
Given time, I can do a CAD drawing of this later component.

Hi Philip.
I bow to your knowledge, and perhaps I should stick to the pre-war section.
Regards,
Tony.

Hello Claudio,
I have several of both types in a drawer, but it would be easy to make the plate/tube version. I will take some measurements and get back to you.

Claudio, I have these examples, the tube type 5.5cm long & the later type overall length 6.2cm but 5.5cm to the top of the
plate. I don’t have the plate for the tube type to view
Good luck
Alf.

My apologies for being slow. Here's the basic plate. It is steel and a little past 1/8" thick.
