Jupiter SC Windscreen
Does anyone have a pattern for a SC windscreen glass please
From what I can see if varies from an SA in that it is slightly wider - the length seems to be the same and it does not require the glass to be shaped to
allow for a frame at the top edge and bottom corner
Any help and guidance would be appreciated

Re: Jupiter SC Windscreen
Graham - Fairly simple to make your own pattern from the windscreen frame - Simply draw around one half of the frame to a pattern then reduce the pattern by the centre section of claytonwright / H section rubber centre / bridge section - I would also further reduce by 1.5mm all the way around to allow for ease of fitting - you also have to allow for the centre vertical joining section between the nearside & offside screens - some further info below from a post when we rebuilt Amy's SC (about halfway down the page)

Give me a call if you require any further info - Chris

Re: Jupiter SC Windscreen
Update on the Jupiter SC windscreen.
I have made a template for Graham (JUP) after some email communications, it's going in the post today. I have the glass in storage form my SC so used this. I've also taken some pictures so I may as well share them on here as a reference for anyone else in the future. Obviously I can’t share the paper template but I'm sure Graham would share it once he has finished.
The first set of pictures is from FGV (mine) showing the laminated glass and the thickness of 1/4".
The second batch show how the glass is fitted to NXH. This was done by a professional fitter about 20 years ago and may not be exactly how Jowett did this but it does work. I've estimated what the profile looks like because I couldn't find mine, it looks like a fairly standard item.
Just to note, the two pieces of glass are similar but not identical. They look hand cut and there is some 'chipping' on the curves, I would imagine laminated glass is a pain to cut. I was expecting the edges to be ground like the Javelin screen but they are just straight cut.
Hope this helps. (if the pictures work, they didn't. I'll be back in five mins!)
The URL links seem to work but the IMG ones don't, just click the link, I'll sort it later.

Nearly missed the posting !
Excellent news indeed -
It is one of those jobs you don't think will be a problem - until you get a car with no glass in it
Its nice to know that not only a club member has come to the rescue, but the answers are now on hand for the future on Jowett Talk !
Thank you

Re: Jupiter SC Windscreen
Glad to help, templates should be with you Tuesday. If you find a match to the screen rubber please post it into this thread to keep information in one place.

Re: Jupiter SC Windscreen
Front windscreen eventually fitted - Patern supplied was perfect
Glass proved to be a challange due to the shape in the corners
Woolies provided the rubber - R398-C and the screen to car rubber R181
Many thanks to everyone who has assisted - It has been a very difficult hurdle to overcome.
